About me

Hello my name is Caroline Rum. I am a speech language pathologist and owner of NeuroSpectrum Speech and Language Pathology, LLC. I am licensed in the state of Florida and I hold a certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Master of Science degree in Speech and Language Pathology from The University of South Florida. In my career, I have had clinical experiences with diverse populations, from pediatrics to geriatrics, in many different settings, including early intervention, home health, in-patient, out-patient community clinics and school settings.  However, my special interest is supporting children in their development of speech, language and literacy skills.

I am a PROMPT trained Speech Language Pathologist. PROMPT stands for PROMPTs for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets. The technique is a tactile-kinesthetic approach that uses touch cues to a patient's articulators (jaw, tongue, lips) to manually guide them through a targeted word, phrase or sentence.

I am also trained in DIR/Floortime, Nancy Kaufman’s training for Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Natural Language Acquisition, the Orton-Gillingham Approach, The Listening Program and The Movement Program.
